Forth Bridge 125th Anniversary
2015 marks the 125th anniversary of the world famous Forth Bridge. When it opened on March 4th 1890, it immediately became the world’s longest cantilever bridge, a position it still holds today. You can find out more about what makes this landmark in modern civil engineering and a true icon of Scotland here.
Special events will be held throughout 2015 to mark this historic milestone. Given the unique connection the Forth Bridge (and its neighbouring bridges) has with local communities, it is fitting the second Forth Bridges Festival will be themed around the 125th anniversary.
