New images released as Forth Bridge Experience takes shape

The public are being invited to give their views on new artist’s impressions of The Forth Bridge Experience, released today by Network Rail.
The Forth Bridge Experience is a proposed multi-million pound development which will enable the Forth Bridge to become one of Scotland's major landmark tourist attractions and encourage visits to a short-listed World Heritage site. To help develop the business plan further, Network Rail is seeking the opinions of the public and visitors to Scotland via the project website (www.forthbridgeexperience.com)
Forth Bridge World Heritage photo competition winners unveiled

Two stunning images of the world famous Forth Bridge have taken the top prizes in a photographic competition run in support of the Bridge’s World Heritage nomination.
The winning entries from Edinburgh’s Grant Ritchie and Billy Steven from Bathgate were announced today by Transport Minister, Keith Brown who presented their awards of a VIP visit to the bridge and a copy of the book ‘Forth Bridge: Restoring an Icon’.

Network Rail has announced details of a feasibility study which aims to deliver a visitor attraction allowing people to visit the Forth Bridge. Proposals include a visitors centre and viewing platform based in North Queensferry, and a smaller base in South Queensferry to co-ordinate guided walks to the top of the bridge.
Capture a Scottish Icon - Forth Bridge World Heritage Photo Competition

Members of the public and particularly those who live close to the bridge are being invited to take part in a competition to capture the railway bridge in all its glory.
The competition will run from 10th August to 30th September 2013. All entries must be digital images and full details of how to enter can be found at www.forthbridgeworldheritage.com. The top prize includes a visit hosted by Network Rail to the Forth Bridge, which is not normally accessible to the public.

The public’s views on the World Heritage nomination of the Forth Bridge is being sought through a 12-week consultation launched today.
The Forth Bridges Forum – which includes a number of local and national organisations – is keen to gather input from individuals and interested parties in support of the iconic railway bridge’s nomination. It also wants to hear people’s views on how the potential social, economic and cultural benefits of World Heritage can be managed in the local and national interest.
