Heritage Bid Hots Up

forth bridgeExcitement is rising as the bid to have the Forth Bridge inscribed as a World Heritage site is reaching its conclusion in Bonn, Germany.

The 39th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee is underway and you can access the live stream at the Conference Website live web cast or on the website of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

As you can see from the list of papers, the committee has a significant amount of business to work through but it is expected to consider the Forth Bridge application at some point between Friday July 3 and Sunday July 5.

The committee will be considering a report from its advisers at the international conservation body ICOMOS, which has recommended the inscription.
