Interactive 360° view from the centre tower

© Press Association Images

This stunning panoramic image was taken in early November 2014 from the top of the Centre Tower – some 80m above the water. As well as the construction site, the interactive controls let you explore the incredible vista of the Firth of the Forth, the Fife & Lothian coastlines and of course, the Queensferry Crossing’s older siblings – the road and rail bridges. At this time, the construction team were fitting steel reinforcement bars in preparation for the 20th concrete pour on the tower. Each pour raises the tower structures by around 4m. As you can see, the formwork shapes the concrete around an octagonal interior where access staircases for maintenance will be fitted.
